no, not a snob, I have had at least 6 in my time down to 2 and a 1/2. Its just such a shame, that some people buy inferior quality when for almost the same price the can get nice quality ie, 4150 instead of 4140, mpi, hp testing etc.

I knew someone would say something like that. As mentioned I am not a car guy, but what I meant is if you buy junk and dress it in junk, it is just pretty looking junk. Let's change the car to a mazda miata for the example.sigpicin the hands of

There are snobs in every hobby. I got into restoring antique Chambers gas ranges a few years back. The fighting and bickering you would not believe, between the purists who said that the range should be restored to working condition but never rechromed or re-porcelained, and those who would restore the appliance to its showroom-new condition upon delivery back in the 40's. The difference between stove snobs and AR-15 snobs is that in the case of all-out war, the stove snobs can only throw pies.

buy what you want. buy what you can afford. would love an acog. but it is to expensive and not what i really need. a $150 simmons scope is more than enough for me. A lot of it comes down to the name. im not a fan boy. ill buy what i can afford and will serve the duty that i need of it.ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕPSN Id: FNChesterCertified Welder-ANSI/AWS D1.2 1F/G, 2F/G, 3 F/G up to 1/2 plate aluminium GTAW. &

I guess in reality now, I am kind of over the AR thing. I really like couple I have now, but I would like to focus more on bolt, lever, and guns with wooden stocks, and shying away from tupperware anymore. There is just something to a nice hand crafted checkered piece of walnut and steel.Comment

There are "xxxxxx snobs" in just about every concievable genere' of things that there are.....guns is no exception.
As for building....I equate that with guys who like to build their own hotrods. Some guys just like to tinker."Freedom begins with an act of defiance"

Most people that i find talking smack about anything are peopel who spent 2-3-4x as much as someone did for their "inferior" product and works just as well as their expensive product so they HAVE to tell themselves that due to the money spent its "better"
Sure there are cases when that is true but its not always true.Comment

I hate snobs. not everyone has loads of money to throw around on toys. I have a few delton equipped rifles(as budget permitted) and mine shot just as good a group as the kid with the Daniel Defense- Magpul smothered AR in the lane next to me. love my AR's but if the shtf it makes no difference what you have as long as you can hit center mass efficiently. just imagine if someone with an un-tacticool Garand had his sights trained on you from afar . We'd all surely sh*t bricks.Comment
