    The Seattle checklist...

    Hey Folks,

So we're contemplating a move to Seattle for at least a few years, maybe longer. On the one hand, it's making me realize how much I'll miss the Bay Area, but I'll admit I'm drooling over the Washington state gun laws.

Here's my to do list once I get there:
    1) Get WA driver's license and apply for CCW permit
    2) Shop for a quality concealment holster (guess I could do that now)
    3) Order 15 round mags for the SIGs
    3) Order 30 round PMAGs for the AR
    4) Take off that damned Bullet Button!

    Am I missing anything?

Get a Title 2 (NFA) firearm...

    1. Form a trust.
    2. Purchase an AOW from a FFL/SOT dealer.
    3. Submit a Form 4 to the BATFE for the AOW.
    4. Wait 2 weeks to 3 months.
    5. Recieve your $5 tax stamp from the BATFE.
    6. Present your approved Form 4 & $5 tax stamp to the FFL/SOT dealer & collect your AOW.
    7. Enjoy your AOW.

Oh wait, you can do that in CA as well.

Here's what you can do, that you can't do in CA.

    1. Form a trust.
    2. Purchase a Noise Suppressor from a FFL/SOT dealer.
    3. Submit a Form 4 to the BATFE for the Noise Suppressor.
    4. Wait 2 weeks to 3 months.
    5. Recieve your $200 tax stamp from the BATFE.
    6. Present your approved Form 4 & $200 tax stamp to the FFL/SOT dealer & collect your Noise Suppressor.
    7. Admire your Noise Suppressor, but never use it in WA. Because even though it is legal to own a Noise Suppressor in WA, it is illegal to use a Noise Suppressor in WA.

DDs, MGs, SBRs and SBSs are also illegal in WA.

Just save some cash and start ordering long guns from online ASAP...It is order and send to FFL and then go pick it up...It is that easy. Definitely get your WA drivers license...The everything becomes easy. There are two gun shows up there both within and hour of Seattle. Ammo is cheap and there are some good deals up there. Get 30 round magazine like mad and shoot to your hearts desire. The range closest to the airport has serious range masters but Kenmore Gun Range has some cool ones and the regulars are cool. I was going to become a member down there until I was asked to fix our Southwest territories.

Enjoy and I will say this, I am envious of you.

Also, keep in mind that Seattle is very anti-gun.

In regards to gun control and politics...
... Seattle wants to be SanFran North.

So, get involved with the pro-gun groups in WA.

          Forget all that crap.

Get a lawyer and get a Class III license for your suppressors and full auto toys.

No such thing as a Class III license.

You'll probably need to wait six months before you can get a resident CCW. If there is any way whatsoever you can live outside of King County you would be happier as far as the gun culture goes.

Can I have your bullet button and 10 rounders?

                            Here's the actual study

You can also download their data which is extremely detailed. There are so many variables it's mind boggling.

WA ranks 37th in fiscal policy; 45th in regulatory policy; 41st in economic freedom; and 35th in personal freedom. Average ranking of 39.5 or 40th place in the nation.

I found WA to be very gun friendly even if the attitude isn't. You can buy suppressors, easily get CCW (I got mine just by strolling into the superior court and spending 45 min there), legally own high-cap mags, etc etc. The weirdness comes with laws like not being able to use your suppressor in WA state (drive down to Oregon for that), no class 3, etc.

If you're accustomed to CA's laws, you'll find WA to be very gun friendly IMO.

edit: and find a good FFL - mine would do up to 5 transfers for $20 as long as the items came in within the same week. =] very cost-effective if you're buying a few lowers at a time.
