    Safe Moving Suggestions?

Anyone have experience with safe moving companies in North County San Diego??? I need a 600lbs safe moved about 1/2 mile down the road. No stairs involved!

Any tips, recommendation, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    It's only 600lbs?
3 Wooden dowels under the safe and roll it till you can get to a truck.
Wrap it in a moving blanket.
3/4 good friends to lay into a truck bed or lower trailer and repeat when you get to the location.
600lbs is not a big deal,it's not like your lifting it off the ground.

      safe move

we moved a 1000 lb safe, Took the door off, 4 guys pushed it up in the bed of the truck.

2 guys unload the safe, just put down some old plywood or something hard on the floor so when the safe slides out the bed of the truck it does not chip the floor or dent the corner of the safe .

Also golf balls work great to move it around.

a safe moving company will charge you a couple hundred bucks to move it...which is ridiculous. You can do it easily.

i moved an 800lb safe with just 1 friend and myself. We used heavy duty 1" pvc tubes to roll it. It wasnt difficult (we didnt have any stairs either).

Two guys from a local safe company just moved a 1600lb safe into my home. I'm sure you and your friends could move your safe.

U-Haul rents pick-ups for $19.95 per day plus mileage.
Maybe an appliance dolly willn work on a safe. They cost about $10 to rent.
              Good luck.

I've done that three times with only one buddy each time. Once with no hand truck or dolly = PITA. Second time used pick-up truck and furniture dollies. Easy as pie -- but my friend and I are both pretty strong guys so I can't guarantee it works for everyone. Ideally I would have used, had I had one, a hand truck with solid tires and the ability to rock back at a 45 degree angle and lock in place with an extra set of wheels. These exist and if you could rent one that would be the easiest way to do it.

It's his choice, his back & his safe.

He asked for a recommendation, so I gave him one.

                        Just trying to help.

If I knew the name of the guy who delivered mine, I'd have you call him. He could do it himself. He had to be about 6'9" and over 300lbs. of muscle. He used a dolly but he could have just picked it up under one arm I think.

I would go with Mr. Beretta's recommendation even tho it will cost for the same reasons: his back and his safe. If they cause any damage, they have to pay for it, plus they are experienced. If you and your friends drop it, any damage or injury is on you. Just my 1/2 cent (Being retired, I don't get the full 2 cents anymore).
