Ditch the stand. Stands are easy to make and adds a lot of cost to shipping.

For just the plate I'd buy a few.

eye bolts and S hooks. this is my version.




legs fold flat due to hinges.
plate is removeable.
S hooks opposite directions from eachother so they will not be hit off. also, they are small enough and the target big enough not to hit the hooks or eye bolts.
legs are thick tube steel.

I'd make the target an inch thicker...unless you're shooting .22lr at it.

Yup, AR500 is the steel to use. These are 8 or 9 inch plates we were doing some tests on.

100 yards - 300 SAUM with a 180gr Barnes TSX solid copper bullet @ 2900 fps, and .416 Remington Magnum with a Barnes 350gr TSX solid copper bullet @ 2900 fps.



Same thing at 150 yards, plus some shots from a 338RM with 225gr Remington Corelokt @ 3200 fps.

Boy...lots of paint on those. I think I am going to get rid of the chain and use flat stock bolted to the back with 2 pieces of angle going up to 2 pieces of round stock which will slip over the rebar. The angle will be welded so that the pointy end > is towards the shooter.

They've already been shot a many hundreds times by everything from .243 to 300WM. So they've been painted a lot.

We were testing them for magnum day at the steel range at Sac Valley because some of the magnum shooters might be going hunting in lead free zones and we wanted to make sure there would be no problems with them. We didn't think there would be, but the owner of them wanted to be sure.
