Outside lighting, dog, good locks, any pistol that I may or may not have in the house would be in a holster.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

Mosin Nagant M91/30 with bayonet attached. Not loaded. I'll just poke around in the dark; or use it as a spear, javelin, what have you.

I don't think I agree with this idea. Unless you are using night vision gear to check your house, you are going to need to identify any target and white light is what you'll need to do that.

Plus, the weapon mounted light may just be an auxiliary to a handheld light.

Are you using some other method of identifying targets that you may use deadly force against?

Ha! I've actually thought about getting either that or a warhammer (mostly because my wife would rather swing a heavy blunt object at an intruder than shoot or stab him).

                        First line.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Given the current tone from our President for political correctness I have decided if someone were to break into my house, I will engage in diplomatic discourse, in a round table format. Try to embrace our common philosophy, and hash out our differences where we may disagree. As a citizen of the United States, I believe I need to act responsibly and become more tolerant of other people's point of view, even if their goal is the plundering of my property and safety.

Should we be unable to meet common ground, I will elect to either discharge a Sig 226 9mm with 124gr Gold Dot HP, or a 12 gauge 870 with #4buckshot.
