My cellphone would get some play once I was safely away from the scene.

+1. There's no freaking way I'm getting out of the car for a 1 vs 7 fight. Ballsy but stupid, he could of ended up dead if they had pulled him out of the car.

There is a line between being brave or coward, the guy choose to be brave to compront 7 thugs. Sure if you have a gun in hand it will be a great equalizer, the guy have other option on the situation. He should just drive away and call 911.

But that would have been the right thing to do: do not engage the idiot when you can escape unharmed. I'd rather have a dent on my car than end up in jail or in the hospital. It's not cowardice, it's common sense.
