When I was moving out of a house I had lived in for several years, I found an unopened crate (1100+) rounds of Chinese 7.62x39. That was nice.

Good score for you on found ammo even if was yours.
I must admit that when I was younger I wasn't quite organized and when I was cleaning up an old mess I found three black powder pistols I forgot about.

Found two, 100-round WWB value packs of .45 back in March. I stood there totally dumbfounded as they were in a very odd spot in my house that I had no recollection of using to store ammo.

LOL I did that one time. Found about 1000 30-06 ammo in a crate. I had two crates. One held my snow chains for my truck. had them stacked and forgot all about it till I went to clean the garage. I bought the ammo about 16-18 years ago for 120$ per crate at B&B guns. I gave most of it to my dad since my 30-06 did not like the surplus ammo much. Worked great in my stepdads garand though

I moved a few months back and when packing up the "Arts and crafts" room I found a ton of stuff I had forgotten I owned and stuff I never remember getting.

                It was like finding treasure.

You know what trumps all these ammo finds?
                    Finding high capacity mags. Legally.

...But coming back to reality and back on topic, for finding ammo, I once found 1 round of 9mm FMJ, 1 round of .45 ACP FMJ, 1 shotgun shell (12 gauge 00), and 15+ live rounds of .22 LR, as well as a boxful worth of .223, 30-06, .40, .45, and .30 carbine brass, all at my favorite range! That was an awesome day.

No the trump is finding 9mm in your truck when your deep into Mexico. Your absolutely thrilled that it wasn't found at the military check point on the way down. Even better you did a haz mat search on your truck and got rid of all the evidence before heading through the north bound check point. The military then goes through all of your coolers, tackle boxes, and suit cases and finds nothing, Wha hoo no prison time for me.

I recently found an ammo can of 1300 rounds 40SW... I felt so happy after that day.

a couple of years ago, cleaning out the garage, I found a large ammo can I had since college 1989, it had 15 AK47 preban mags as well as +20 AR15 20 and 30 rd mags. Back then these go for $4-$5 per mag... nice.. Norinco and Colts
