Thank you for the compliment. I just finished a 91/30 I bought 15 years ago. I refinished it then with linseed oil, did not know anything about taking out dents and finishes.
BTW it's nice to meet younger guys that have a passion for our sport and the old guns.

alas i have started selling off my collection. as i need food. and i do not have any kids to let have them when i die.

I never understood the point of collecting. While I love seeing cool guns I wouldn't see elsewhere, it defeats the point to stick it on a wall and look at it. Just like people who have multi-million dollar cars and only lick the dirt clean instead of driving them!

Sure, if you shoot a one-of-a-kind gun you run the risk of lowering its value, but is that really all there is to aspire to? A gun is for shooting, a car is for driving, an airplane is for flying. Sticking it on a wall don't cut it!

I know a guy that has a walk-in Vault in his home, with the most beautiful collection of high grade shotguns you have ever seen.

The old Abercrombie and Fitch in New York had a whole floor dedicated to high-end Shotguns and Hunting Rifles, a sight to behold, the engraving was true art.
