    Weird incident

Hello all, I have a friend that is the proud father of a new baby boy. He, his new baby boy and his wife live in a house in the middle of Concord. The house is in the middle of the suburbs but the way it is situated it is the last house on a very small court. The only other house that you can see from the front door is across the way about 100 yards. He was awakened to a knocking at his door at 4am. He looked through his peep hole to find a young girl, in her early twenty's and asked her what she needed thinking she was in trouble. She says "can I get a glass of water"? Kind of a weird request at such an hour but what was weird was he saw her signaling to someone. He immediately ran and retrieved the Sig in the closet, returned to the door and told her to get lost. "F*** off" she says and left. For some reason he waited until morning to call the Concord PD and made a report.
I have not heard of home invasions in this area but this has me a concerned. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Don't know if you remember the event, but two kids in NH - at UNH in Keene I believe - killed two teachers a few years ago. About 6 months earlier they tried to get into another guy's home asking to use the phone. The guy kept them outside, presented his Glock & they split. He later found the phone lines cut. After the kids were caught they mentioned the event & two graves were found in the guys backyard.

That is some scary **it. The fact that she was signaling to someone else is very disturbing and good reason to have "something" close in the event of a situation like that.

That girl is gonna get shot if she keeps playing the odds like that.

There is no rational reason to open my door at 4AM for anyone.

And just in case my curiousity motivates me into my slippers, I'll be pointing a 10mm thru the peephole.

This same tactic has been used recently here in San Diego. Another one is for them to claim they are from the water department. He did the right thing.

Perhaps it was a ploy to see if any one was home (in preparation for a breaking and entering).

thats what my bet is on.

I have a quarter mile driveway in rural Contra Costa. 4 am someone at my door is getting a very rude "get the @#%$ on the ground NOW" following a load of 00 being shoved home in a Benelli

A glass of water? You knocked on my door at 4AM for a glass of water ? WHAT THE FU.. Me loudly swearing up a storm walking up to the door would've driven them away cause they would see I was super pissed even if that was really all she wanted. At 4AM people I do know don't get treated much better. Well little girl, use the garden hose just to the left, out front. You can drink from that. You've got 30 seconds to do that, then you leave, real fast.

                        Similar thing happend to me.

About 5 months after I moved into my house, girl comes to my door around 3:00am, starts pounding on the door yelling, real hostile like. I got armed but rather than open the door, I said or did nothing - I just waited in the dark. After about 5 minutes, she got bored and walked away. I slipped out after she walked away and she was casually walking down the sidewalk away from my home. My take on it was that she was drunk or on drugs. Glad I didn't open the door, learned that lesson long ago.

At 4AM, the only people who answer the door at my house are myself, my dogs, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson. Ironically we usually get to the door at about the same time.
