Is there anywhere in San Diego to shoot a gun?

Is there anywhere in all of San Diego county to shoot a gun not at a range? Or an outdoor range not listed on this website:

Information about firing ranges in the San Diego area.

There are no outdoor ranges on that list that aren't member only. I don't want to become a member due to money reasons and I like doing my own thing. And most of them are very limiting as to what you can shoot. Please don't say move somewhere else.

I'm just really wondering if there are any options for me. Thanks guys!

you will have to get out of the city to get to BLM land, where you can shoot to your heart's content

you gotta check out the San Diego Police Revolver Club. I shot there for the first time last week - beautiful park setting. 25 yard targets only and only pistols but very laid back - outdoors, empty and definitely a well kept secret.

This is not a good idea at the moment. BLM is getting all pissy about people shooting due to leaving trash, not picking shells/brass, etc. Most of the BLM areas that I've been shooting at for a couple years now have "No Shooting" signs all over the place.

Border Patrol doesn't care, but said that BLM could cite you minimum $500 if they catch you.

Great question I was wondering the same thing too......

"If you want to make sure you hit the target, start shooting and whatever you hit call it the target." =P

i was under the impression that it is, in fact, legal to target shoot in the national forest anywhere it's not explicitly posted "no shooting." i cant find any information, in print, to the contrary, but anytime i ask someone that works for the forest, they always look at me like i just kicked their dog... is there any way we can set a precedent, maybe find a nice, flat, open(dry brush-free) area and start to use it collectively? keeping it clean and safe, of course...
