    Hi Cap Mags

If you had hi cap mags prior to the ban I realize you are granfathered in. But how is that proven?

I have multiple weapons that I purchased with hi cap mags prior to the ban and if I were to go to the desert to shoot how would I prove I was able to legally own them?

    talking handguns.

care to elaborate or tell us where you get this information.

I am sure if I tell a park ranger that sorry prove it they will probably take the guns until they can prove it.

You aren't going to get harassed about it, more than likely. The likelihood of an otherwise law abiding citizen getting prosecuted for High Capacity magazines is low anyway. The DA isn't going to waste their time. I have some High Capacity mags that I lawfully owned before the ban, I use them frequently and have never been questioned. And I don't have receipts for them either.

There is no law against ownership or use, so the prosecution would have to prove you did not own them prior to 2000.

Since using or possessing them is legal, a park ranger has no authority to confiscate your property.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

Im finding that most HI CAP mags I see being made now have a date of probuction stamp on them or some other kind of telltail sign. Example, "For military or LE use only". I have a bunch of HI CAP AR15 mags that I got before the ban and not one has a date stamped on it. Most all recently produced AR mags have a date of manufacture on them now.

I believe you can purchase newer parts for old worn preban magazines then toss the old parts away so the stamp on the mag body doesnt really mean much

You don't need to prove it. Possession is legal.

It can be 'unproven' if you accidentally say something that incriminates yourself. "My Uncle gave them to me last year." etc.

The burden of proof is always on the state. It's helpful to prove you did not commit a crime but you don't have a duty to do so.

O.k., this may be playing semantics but I need clarification. Let's say I moved to California under orders in the U.S. military. And let's say with my household goods I had shipped a S&W MP9. The full size MP9 has a standard issue 17 round "clip." IF that firearm were here, would I be in deep kimchi because it holds more than 10 rounds?

Take the mag apart and keep it apart until you cross the california state line. BTW you brought that that 17 round mag already taken apart dont you remember? You were kind of drunk at the time so maybe thats why you think it was put together

I think you should reread his post, he was only talking about a made up scenario.
