McLaughlin Group Insists Glock 9 is Full-Auto

I was just watching the PBS show "McLaughlin Group" with John McLaughlin and Pat Buchanan, etc. One group member who was supposedly from MSNBC, who I have not seen on this show before, emphatically claimed that the Glock 19 that was used by Cho in the VT massacre was "fully automatic" and "sprayed bullets". Of course, Pat Buchanan instantly and vigorously corrected him by saying "No, your just wrong, you don't know anything about guns, it is semi-automatic and only shoots one round per trigger pull." However, the MSNBC guy immediately responded saying that Pat was wrong and that "it is automatic and shoots multiple rounds per trigger pull."

I can't find a transcript or this guy's name, but did anybody else see this show?

Are these people really this stupid and oblivious or is this a premeditated Brady effort to misinform the debate?

Another thing I've been hearing lately from a lot of the big media talking heads is "We have to do something about the gun culture." I haven't heard this from them before. It almost sounds like an admission that they realize their gun banning dreams are unrealizable. But isn't using this argument the same as saying "We need to do something about the Islamic culture" in response to the violence in the middle east? Since when was it permissible to bash or attempt to extinguish one's culture because a very few isolated incidents of violence?

Did he say anything about "randomly spray from the hip"?

actually, let them think it's a full-auto gun. let them run around in circles, hold rallies, spend billions on a campaign to institute another Full-auto ban. Should be fun to watch.

or mention "things that pop up" those are usually very common. I always see our troops having things that pop up on their guns.

Yeah, I'm with Cowboy, they were probably thinking of the Glock 18.

When I saw Glock 9 as the thread name, I thought of Die Hard 2 though .

At first I was trying to type Glock 9mm, but then they said 19 on the show and I guess its actually Glock 18. Anyway, the point was, this proves the assertion some of you were saying a while ago that during the AWB in 1994 the Dems said that the AWB banned fully automatic weapons. Well, I guess those same people still haven't gotten the message.

Silly people. It's the barrel shroud. That's what makes it go full auto.

I wonder if gun corporations could sue politicians for outright saying their products can do things that they can't/don't.

I mean if a politician poped out and said "it was a ford explorer... that vehicle was explicitly designed to go offroad in urban enviroments and run people down" ford would be all over that.

Odd about the link. Home is Mgroup - at the bottom is a box to select month and year. Just 2 April 2007 transcripts available, and not today's.

"time to do something about the gun culture"?

Maybe it's time the gun culture does something about them...
