I was just watching the PBS show "McLaughlin Group" with John McLaughlin and Pat Buchanan, etc. One group member who was supposedly from MSNBC, who I have not seen on this show before, emphatically claimed that the Glock 19 that was used by Cho in the VT massacre was "fully automatic" and "sprayed bullets". Of course, Pat Buchanan instantly and vigorously corrected him by saying "No, your just wrong, you don't know anything about guns, it is semi-automatic and only shoots one round per trigger pull." However, the MSNBC guy immediately responded saying that Pat was wrong and that "it is automatic and shoots multiple rounds per trigger pull."
I can't find a transcript or this guy's name, but did anybody else see this show?
Are these people really this stupid and oblivious or is this a premeditated Brady effort to misinform the debate?
Another thing I've been hearing lately from a lot of the big media talking heads is "We have to do something about the gun culture." I haven't heard this from them before. It almost sounds like an admission that they realize their gun banning dreams are unrealizable. But isn't using this argument the same as saying "We need to do something about the Islamic culture" in response to the violence in the middle east? Since when was it permissible to bash or attempt to extinguish one's culture because a very few isolated incidents of violence?
