What a Shame!

I wrote the journalist and the Buena Park PD telling them to reconsider and donate them to a (military) museum. These are national treasures and part of our history that many people today don't seem to care about. The woman was too old to realize she could have given them to a museum. What a shame if they are destroyed.

You don't take firearms to the PD to have them resold, you take them there to be destroyed.

The PD won't "risk" those firearms getting back out into the public. They aren't in the business of selling firearms.

Some police departments do sell or trade confiscated guns.

The use of guns that once were in police custody and were later involved in attacks on police officers highlights a little-known divide in gun policy in the United States: Many cities and states destroy guns gathered in criminal probes, but others sell or trade the weapons in order to get other guns or buy equipment such as bulletproof vests.
