Apologies in advance as I'm sure it's been covered..but I couldn't find it...If I install the Hammerhead and remove the forward vertical grip...and loosen my radlock...is my AR now featureless? Or do I have to replace my radlock with an original mag release button?

it would be easiest to show us a picture of your gun or a list of whats on there, following the flow chart would also be goodComment

Here's the gun.....Bravo Company Upper....so is it a flash hider I believe.....so I can replace it with a muzzle brake. I am running an ace stock on this one so not collapsible...I looked at the flow chart but admit it was a little confusing...but with a hammerhead, remove the vertical grip and loosen up the radlock, swap to a muzzle brake......I can run my legally owned hi cap mags.....correct? My confusion is mostly in the flow chart where it states a radlock requires a tool to remove the mag.....but when I loosed it up......it functions as a normal release......do I need to replace it?Attached FilesLast edited by TurboChrisB; 06-14-2010, 11:16 AM.Comment

Your thought patterns... are really choppy and... hard to follow... let's see if I have it right...
Install a muzzle brake in place of the flash hider.
Install Hammerhead in place of the pistol grip.
Remove the VFG.
Now you may disengage your Raddlock and insert legally owned "hi cap mags". When unscrewed the proper number of turns, it will function as a standard magazine release. However, if you're going to all this trouble, it's not much more trouble to install a standard magazine release. The Raddlock spring isn't all that strong, making it easier to inadvertently drop your magazine by bumping the release. My featureless carbine has a standard magazine release installed.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment

Sorry for highjacking your thread, but I have been wondering the same thing about the AK47 platform. I am getting ready to buy one and would like to go "featureless" as well.
I was thinking old school wood stock, and maybe a monstermangrip instead of a pistol grip.
What else would I have to do to eliminate the bullet button?Comment

For an AK-pattern rifle, assuming that you do not have a flash hider on it and have a fixed buttstock and have a standard handguard on it, usually all you have to do is remove the pistol grip (replace with MMG if you like)Sorry for highjacking your thread, but I have been wondering the same thing about the AK47 platform. I am getting ready to buy one and would like to go "featureless" as well.

I am not a lawyer....
Quick check through the Evil Feature list:
(CA PC 12276.1(a)(1)(A-F))
* Pistol Grip, Check, Hammerhead's not a PG
* Thumbhole Stock, Check, ACE ARFX is not a thumbhole stock.
* Folding or Telescoping Stock, Check.
* Grenade Launcher or Flare Launcher, Check.
* Flash Suppressor, If you have it, replace with a Thread Protector or Muzzle Brake
* Forward Pistol Grip., Remove it.
As to the Raddlock, the applicable PC is this: CA PC 12276(a)(2) [Illegal Assault weapon =] "A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds."
The PC doesn't say anything about Raddlock or Bullet Button, it just says "fixed magazine." So as long as your Raddlock can't accidentally engage into the locked position, you should be fine to have it on and switched to the free state position. If it can release with just your finger, you should be good to go. If there's any chance the Raddlock can be accidentally switched into the fixed mag position I wouldn't use it for a featureless. I don't have experience with the Raddlock, just the bullet button. (I'm probably the only guy in Texas with a bullet button.)
Oh and just FYI if you use the ARFX stock shown with a Hammerhead you will not be able to wrap your hand around the grip. You'll have an underhand grip, what we call a Type IV configuration, something like this:
See our CONFIG page for photos of the four configuration types.
