I would personally build one from a virgin receiver if I were to play that game, but probably okay tainted. Definitely need to be marked as other on the 4473.

it is a virgin receiver in fact. as of yesterday it came out of the stag box it was purchased in, got a lower parts kit put in, and is waiting for the GSE pistol bugger. and it was never an "other". always been a "long gun"

M2HB - not a rifle, because it is not shoulder-fired. therefore, not subject to rifle laws, the relevant one being the 50BMG ban. you can currently buy a 50BMG M2HB in california, I just looked at one sitting in an FFL on the 10 day wait recently.


1919A4 - not a rifle, because it is not shoulder-fired. therefore not subject to rifle laws, the relevant one being the assault weapons laws. legally owned belts of 100, 200, 10000 rounds can be used. a flash hider is totally kosher.


AR-15 Pistol - not a rifle, because it is not a shoulder fired weapon. but wait you say, you can fire it from teh shoulder! it doesn't have a buttstock and never has. it is not designed nor intended to be fired from the shoulder, and is called a pistol. what makes it a pistol? the overall length is <26", the barrel is <16". what makes it subject to assault weapon laws? it's a pistol and there are assault pistol laws. if it exceed those dimensions, it would still not be a rifle, it would be a "long gun".

It is a title one long gun and that's it. Stan's build looks perfectly legal without a BB!!!! I would not recommend that anyone try this though. Instead, save your money to bail Stan out. After the trial is over and there is case law on the books in Ca, you can build one.
