Anyone carry a Taser?

Our dept. just bought all the deputies X26s.

When I went through the training course for the taser, I thought I would be the man to do a full five second ride. Big mistake. I had my own human $h!t on the back of my thighs for the rest of the day.


Kerosene and a lighter come to mind when describing the sensation. Followed by a mild sunburn over the targeted area for the next day. Very effective if deployed properly/

We are supposed to have a training day for tasers as well.. The one we had scheduled was postponed. I am not looking forward to it -- I really didn't enjoy my OC training when the spray didn't effect me, and the instructor came back and said, oh yeah? It doesn't affect you? And sprayed me right in the eyes for 3 or 4 seconds.

Ouch.

Taser failures do happen - I remeber watching a video RCMP officer getting shot with one while charging the taser officer during the training exercise but he managed to successfully the officer without falling. I think it was attributed to probe failure. Of course the same video showed like 8 other officers being hit correctly, all went down.
