    FBI Pistol

What pistol does the FBI use currently, is it the Springfield TRP and what caliber?

Looks like you are right and this was already partially answered in another thread. According to Springfield the TRP pro model meets the specifications but I'm still not sure if they actually purchased any.

I was told it was the SA professional, made without the full length guide rail, so they can rack on a fixed object if necessary. Thats all I have heard. I thought they used the 40sw since it was pretty much developed for them.

Glock 22 is the standard issue.
Some people are allowed to carry the glock 21.

the FBI Swat teams use (or did use at one point) a version of the TRP.

I was shooting with a FBI dude a couple years ago, he said the issued a G19/23 and a sig 229. The agent had a choise between 40 or 9mm based on their comfort level. That was awhile ago so who knows now, I mean it's not their money anyway.

Its not standard issue, HRT and the like get them.

I have a who is a special agent. he got out of quantico recently. he was issued a Glock 22. He has a different glock now. still .40 cal but i'm not sure what model. you know they fly armed? Its a little weird going to the airport. They go into a special door, meet the pilot, find out who else is carrying etc..

They have to fill out an insane amount of paperwork to do so as well from what I understand. The ones I know won't step foot in an airport unless they have to fly.

Nice thanks alot for the info, I own a p226 in 9mm but been thinking about something in .40 s&w that lives up to the expectations of a service pistol.

That being said, I'd assume these departments/agencies don't go with the 1911 for standard issue due to the increased price?

I've still got my eyes on a para 1911 chambered in .40SW.
