Do you go to work and not get paid? Do you store and secure a stranger's firearm without a fee? Does the FFL employee get paid while he is filling out your paperwork?
Oh sorry, I forgot, FFL's are not in the business to make a profit. They do it for laughs and giggles.

          Examples:
          * Some places charge storage fees if they have to hold it longer than 10 days

          * Some places charge a "usage tax" on incoming items that's remitted to the of CA

          * Some places charge the same Fee for all additional guns.. (example for 2 guns = $25 DROS + $40 fee + $40 fee).. others charge a reduced fee for additional firearms (example: 2 guns = $25 dross + $40 fee + $15 fee).

Shop around and keep in mind with the cost of acquisition significantly higher here than in other states (my friends in TX pay $15-25), it might be cost effective to get 3-4 AR lowers at once vs. ordering them piecemeal (for example).

You should ask the shipper/vendor if they already have your chosen CA FFL's license on file. It's happened to me a few times already.
