I shimmed my loose fitting upper/lower with some tape between the two halves. I put the tape on the ridge just above the rear take down pin. I know, kinda ghetto, but oh well....

Leave it alone since it's normal and supposed to be there by design?

Then you should be worried about the rifles that DONT have any play, since it's not normal

O-rings on the upper reciever lugs work too.

                  Jeff,
You understand that the more you FIX the play in the upper/lower, the WORSE it gets as you use it, right?

                  Leave it alone.

i just use a sliver of tape.. been doing it for a while and none of my rifles have become "looser".

nothing like trying to squeeze out a grouping at 150yd, and your lower/stock assembly is jiggling around. if having a loose gun is normal then ill gladly be abnormal in this case seeing as how all my guns shoot exactly where i want them to and never malfunction

I had the same problem with my AR build I finished yesterday doesn't have much play but a hairline gap between upper and lower,so I looked at my other AR seems to be the same. I'll just leave it alone shouldn't be a problem.

I never understood why so many people spend so much time, energy and money trying to "fix" something that is not broken.

                            That's fixing what isn't broke.
