What should I buy next?

At $500, you are right on the cusp of being able to purchase some very nice firearms. Like I said, nothing wrong with your current line-up, but I think it deserves a pearl in there.

My suggestion would be to try to save and push the firearm budget to $1000. You are halfway there, it won't take too long. Then, revise your wish/want list with that new budget and make a new thread.

If you are too impatient (like me ), maybe shoot lower, like $700 - 800.

I'm with you on that...it would be nice. But the wife is only releasing so much funding right now and if i don't use it, it'll be gone! She's promised to release some more funding later for specific guns, but this $500 is because we are getting the 1st time home buyer credit on our taxes and we're each taking $500 to buy whatever we want for ourselves. I want guns, so I need to try to maximize my buying power and have the end result be something I'm overly happy with.

I think I've narrowed it down to a Bersa Thunder, a .357 wheelie, or a PRK AK-47. Bersa would be used for CCW, so might the .357. And the AK....well, everyone needs a a beautiful Russian Red AK-47!!!! All would be used often so it's not a case of getting a safe queen.

id be lookin into a saiga in 7.62x39

ammo is realitivly cheap and its uber reliable. its a ton of fun out of the box then later you can convert it and have a russian ak variant in your arsenal. best part is you can convert to featureless or evil... it leaves you with some good options

The Saiga shotty would be nice. But after the mods needed to get it "up to par," you'd be waaaaaaaay over your $500.00 limit.

I would use it for reloading supplies, pistol/rifle match gear...or if you don't have it, reloading equipment.

If you absolutely, positvely need to spend that money on a weapon...then get a good .357 snubby.

Can't go wrong with a decent "hide away" piece when going into those iffy areas at night. (My job is a 24-hour job...and I am in pretty hairy situations sometimes).
