    SKS rifles..

Can you still purchase these rifles in the PRK? And if so what's the average going price for one?

I'll trade ya one for that upper

You usually see the cheaper ones for sale from $170-250 (CA retail) based on what I have seen. Distributors in other states have used ones for as little as $89.

We bought some from InterOrdnance and that ended up being a bit of a PITA, particularly for our FFL.

If yo shop around you can still find the fixed 10 round mag guns for under 200, in pretty decent shape.

Big 5 Sporting Goods has a sale on some Yugo's this week: "Yugoslav M59/66 SKS, 7.62x39mm Soviet, muzzle brake, GL sight, folding bayonet, condition Good, $150".

I have not seen them myself, so I can not personally comment, but I am pissed because I just got an SKS last week for $220 (although it was a Russian)... if only I had known.

$220 is not bad for a Russian.

I got that information from this site: http://www.iguanasoft.com/~jeffersonian/big5.html

I have not been able to get down to my local Big 5 to confirm this, but this guy has been accurate in the past. He updates it every Sunday evening with that weeks deals.

Check out Turners. They usually have Yugos on sale for $179.

SKS rifles are CA Legal, as long as it doesn't have a over 10 round magazine, detachable magazine and gernade launcher.

If you modify them, you are subject to section 922.

I shot my Yugo M59 last weekend in a indoor rifle range, the 7.62 x 39mm boom out of my SKS was just a bit less than the dude shooting a M1A, next to me. I'm happy.

If you had known that the Yugo rifles do not have a chrome bore (like your Russian does) and that "good" condition Yugos can have fairly nasty bores, would you feel any different? $220 for a Russian, if in VG or better, is a deal.

Ahhh..yogo's don't have chrome bores. That's good to know. I guess I'll do a little research and decide which one I'll get.
