If your pistol is there to fight your way to your rifle, then is it more important to be better with your rifle, or your pistol?

For sure, excellence with all 3 is the goal. But which comes first?

What do I keep next to the bed? Handgun
What will I grab first from the safe WSHTF? AR.
Once you get some proper training / practice with your tactical rifle, I bet it will become your "go to" weapon of choice.
Check out a top notch SWAT team. Are they clearing buildings with their handguns or AR's?

Wow, lots of activity since I last read this one.

Well CALGUNNERS, I think that training in all firearms platforms is important. YES to the person who said that "The sole purpose of your pistol is to fight your way to your rifle." And this be true. Do not bring a pistol to a rifle fight. However, we do live in CA and therefore, you rifle becomes a shotgun. You must be aware of your AO. We are not in the box working as such. You are not carring at long gun and pistol (unless you are Law Enforcement, Government or Military).

Taking into consideration the versatility of the Shotgun, this platform when learned properly is outstanding. Besides, if you think there is someone in your house that should not be there, what better sound for them to hear then you chambering a round with an 870. Most people hear that sound and %$(% their pants.

However, a poll is a poll. Thus, FALCON is going to offer a 1 Day Tactical Pistol Day. This course will be held on June 6, 2010 at Burro Canyon.
