CALGUNS ? Whats that ?

So I'm at a local gun store in Nor-Cal that I don't visit much. They have a decent selection of some EBR'S, Saiga's, and some lowers etc.... The guy behind the counter seems pretty helpful and pleasent. I'm minding my own business and notice a customer who looks to be picking up an AR upper in 6.8. I hear him asking about some goodies he'd ordered. So at this point I figured I would strike up a conversation. One of my first questions is "So I guess your on Calguns huh" ? He gives me a blank look, I repeat myself thinking he didn't hear me. He then replies "I've never heard of it". I proceed to tell him that Calguns is pretty much responsible for us being able to buy EBR'S again in the PRK. The guy was stone cold serious. I encouraged him to check it out since he's into AR'S. Maybe it's just me but I was shocked he had not heard of CG. Maybe EBR'S in Cali are becoming so common place people don't realize the recent movement to regain them?

After going to the CalExpo show I got a glimpse as to just how many aren't aware of Calguns. It's pretty amazing really.

I got into AR's way before I got into calguns. There's a lot of us out there.

The thing is with these folks, do they know the ABC's of owning EBR'S. I doubt it. Is this going to lead to more inadvertent assault weapon violations, thats the thing that gets me.

What's CalGuns

I just recently joined CalGuns....though I've been on other well known "gun boards" for over 10 years. I knew about this board and the large number of members here, but never really spent much time here before a friend of mine at work finally convinced me to give it a more serious look.

It'd be nice if calguns business cards were handed over at gun shops with every gun someone buys. I know there could just be a little display on the counter but I think those get overlooked to easy.

That's a good idea. I don't see why gun stores wouldn't allow that.

Maybe post a thread asking gun store owners here if they are willing to commit to the cause. That might work.
