I had fired a couple of full auto AR's before, but the MP5 I tried out at The Gun Store in Vagas was the most fun. 9mm is so very easy to control. I have wanted an MP5 close ever since and am actually thinking about trading my Python for one.

FYI, Front Sight has 2 and 4 day select fire M16 and subgun classes which Ill be sure to do in the future....
Any Questions about Front Sight memberships or specific information about attending, Feel Free to send me a PM!

Oh yeah, there's a bunch in San Jose... Bay Area Gun Vault in Mtn View and The Gun Exchange in SJ come to mind... BAGV had a pretty good selection when I was in there last too.

Totally free, didn't even pay for ammo. I took a picture of the grouping with my cell phone, right in the neck of the silhouette, and one of the Lt. holding the MP5... had I known beforehand, I would've brought my camera.

I know what you mean, BAGV almost had me with this LWRC in stock for $2300, but I held off and ordered a cheaper and better one online.

For the fun and grit factor their is nothing like that little broomstick thompson hurling 230grain .45 in full auto. It's the sound and the feel for me. However I am pretty good with a FA MP5, I don't think many people can't be - it's a great platform, hence why it has seen so much deployment.

Isn't that fun? I tried some a long time ago when I still reside in LV and I finally bought an 2 M16s. I wish I could have also bought an MP5 while they were a little bit cheaper. A few years ago they were somewhere $7-10K only.

So is NV the nearest state that allows NFA weapons with the proper license/ tax stamp? I remember going into a gun shop back when I lived in Reno for a few months and seeing a FA Uzi and suppressor. I don't know if I'd like living in Nevada, perhaps Colorado or Oregon. But as I said before, hopefully one day we can get em here in CA, too.

One of those Thompsons would be a lot of fun... it may be ridiculous wearing full camo to the range, but with a Thompson I could definitely see myself dressed in a zoot suit and shooting rows of watermelons...
