Caught a guy printing last night

Was in a restaurant last night in Pasadena, and went to the restroom. Guy comes in to wash his hands. I get behind him to wait to wash mine and I can clearly see the outlines of 2 magazines. I also could plainly see the grip of his pistol as well. I didn't say anything then, but I stopped by his table and and mentioned, "Hey just FYI, your are printing real bad, bro. Thought you might want to know." Took him a sec and he was Oh, crap! Thanks!

Weird how I notice these things now....

First thing came to my mind! You caught a guy using an offset printing press.

Yes, "printing" refers to the pattern outline of the gun/magazines against his shirt.

I always wondered this. If he has a CCW, is printing considered concealed even though one like yourself notices he's carrying?

Did you get his phone number for a date?

I'm printing all over in TX, I don't care...as long as I have my CCW.

The OP said he could "plainly see the grip of his pistol as well." In this case, it could be brandishing. "Brandishing" is supposed to be in a "rude or threatening manner" but that can be interpreted differently by different people.

Just "printing", I don't really know. If a non-gunner can clearly figure it out, it may be brandishing.

we are talking about commie fornia. where most people freak out when they see someone carrying concealed weapon.

This is true, but think about it this way: somewhere, Africa perhaps, there are people who have never seen an automobile.

They would freak out the first time they saw one heading for them at 60mph, would they not?

Give them a few weeks, and they'll readily climb into one, and tell you it sure beats walking.

Why should Californians not react the same?

I could see it poking against the shirt, not actually see it. I was going to ask him what he was carrying but from the shapes of the mags, it might have been a Sig.

So what exactly is wrong with killing bad people?
We kill thousands of perfectly innocent people every year, quite legally.
Shouldn't we be able to do the same to folks who intend to rape and murder us?

Crap! There's a whole lot of crap being said by people who don't have any idea of what they are talking about.

Printing is not brandishing, in any shape or form.

Obviously, I live by a different set of rules.
I often carry and the only thing between my pistol and plain view is my shirttaill; if the wind blows or I bend from the waist (not easy for my back to do) it can become visible. It happens, I don't worry and there's never been any fallout.

Example of what was probably my most notable situation: A couple of years ago I was leaving a bar and while sliding out of the booth my shirttail caught on an upholstery button. My pistol was completely exposed so I turned to look around to see if anyone noticed. The guy in the booth behind me was on the phone, made eye contact with me, pointed and then waved. He never missed a word of his conversation.

Now, if I could only carry when visiting California...
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.
