Knowing the Philippine government, they will not destroy them but instead sell them to the enemies. Where do you think the rebels get their weapons. And for sure they will show some being destroyed on tv, which are, like Stanze mentioned, the crappiest guns of the bunch.
To support the statement of the Philippines government being corrupt, The International Herald Tribune ranked Philippines as number one. They've been at number two for a number of years next to Indonesia only because they bribed the the polling body
. This year, they didn't have the money because they need the cash to buy votes on the upcoming election.

The bad thing is that we own all those M1s!
All the M1s sent to the Phillipines were on the lend-lease and similar programs and are supposed to be returned to the US. Thats how the CMP is getting all the guns that they're selling now.Frank
