I usually clean pistols/ rifles after..but often in the next couple of days..at least before it gets shot again. except for my main shotgun..it might get a kwik bore-snaking if I'm feeling froggy. I go about 200 rounds then it gets cleaned more thoroughly.

It would be dumb not to clean and lube after every time you shoot. I consider my firearms a long term investment. I have friends who go and shoot multiple times and don't clean their firearms for months. The carbon build up is like scraping out hunks of rock after that long and it takes them two hours or more to clean. If you just take 15 minutes to half an hour with a couple of beers to maintain your firearms after every shooting session, you will save on replacing parts prematurely and your sanity. But that's my .02

          depends

Depends less on time and more on volume. If I'm shooting corosive mili-surp ammo through my old com-block weapons then I'll clean every trip because that stuff will rot your barrel quickly if you don't take care of it.

My pistols I usually clean every few hundred rounds because I only use factory ammo that doesn't get them too dirty.

I like to shoot alot of trap, sometimes I'll go through a few hundred shells a day so I try to clean my shotguns every trip.

Sometimes after a range trip, sometimes not at all.

I clean to inspection-ready after every time I shoot. To very idea of doing anything else should be hateful to an American. I know that overzealous cleaning can wear a gun out faster than shooting it, and I know the proper methods to be used to prevent this.

If you think that's going overboard, let me tell you that lately I've been shooting with a couple of fellows who clean their barrels at the range after every few shots.

I clean them about once a quarter, and go shooting once every other week or so. However, I bring enough weapons that usually each one fires around 30 rounds per gun, per trip.

I clean every trip, but I shoot a lot of corrosive commie stuff. Even with non-corrosive, I clean every trip.

It's not a "white glove" clean. Just get the real nasty crap out, then lube it.

                          Depends on the firearm.

Glock, Rem 870/Mossy 500, Mini 14, lever guns <~~ Never clean

AR's, Rem 700's, M1A's, 1911 and yes wheels guns for some reason <~~ Always clean after firing
