I don't think that's a true statement about NRA. I've seen them always grade the guy with the best pro gun voting record or responses to their questionnaire best.

I personally love the contests where its an A versus and A-. I'll take either of those guys any day.

Actually as a current example, the person running for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's election, Bill Brown, got an "A" and "NRA-PVF ENDORSED" rating even though some NRA members were contacting the NRA with info that Bill Brown might not be pro-gun to no avail.
Well, guess what happened after he was elected, he is discontinuing all CCW renewals.

Don't forget about Romney! He's from Utah (the land where teachers can have CCW in school). He may have some weird moral values, but I like his 2A stance...

He's a phony. He says that he disagrees with the NRA on the assault weapons issue but is still pro 2A. That's the most absurd contradiction I've ever heard.

The Constitution is my litmus test when it comes time to 'pull the lever'. Unfortunatly, all candidates fail, but some get lower grades than others. The 2A is one thing I pay attention to since most politicians just don't get it. If they don't understand what 'people' and 'shall not be infringed' mean, I keep looking. Sometimes (well, almost always), one is less objectionable than the other but they both suck. The independants have no chance, so I am forced to choose the lesser of the two evils. Sucks.
