Actually I don't need all my guns. i dont need a 3/4 ton 4x4 truck either. a small 4x4 will get me where I wanna go. its simple the reason I have them is because i can. i usually ask the person why do they drive a BMW or why do they have a 8000$ painting on a wall?Comment

Exactly the same reason I give to people when they ask me that question. I hate it when people don't realize that owning a lot of guns is just like buying several numbers of "x" for their interests, hobbies, enjoyment, or just because you can.Comment

I was asked the same question at a shooting range once, I replied "self defense". End of discussion!Comment

When someone asks me that question, and I get it often enough, I usually give it to them with both barrels. I normally show them how they are embracing the Socialist/Collectivist/Marxist/Communist mentality by their thinking.
Words have meaning. When a person employs the word "NEED," what they are actually saying is, "I think I should have some say in how many guns you own."
I usually ask them, "Why do you need:
to jog three miles every morning?
to work out at the fitness center?
to keep four (cats/dogs)?
six children?
so many televisions?
a four-bedroom house?
So many (shoes, ties, dresses, ear rings, etc.)?
We could spend all day zeroing in on specific things the person might have, that another person might deem 'excessive' but the answer is always the same.

For women, I try and compare it to owning shoes or jewlry and need vs want. For non-shootine men I compare it to golf clubs or power tools.RIP Louis Awerbuck. I miss you and your training.Comment
