No, I have quite an opposite recurring dream. I get shot at and the bullets from the bad guys do hit me, but I don't feel them at all. They don't bound off, I actually get shot, but I don't feel them at all. Meanhwile, when i shoot back, I hit everything I aim at though it takes several rounds to make the bad guys go down. And I also have the problem that my punches in my dreams don't seem to be hard enough to have an effect on the bad guys, but their punches don't bother me at all either!

      I think I'm crazy....

While you guys are dreaming of killing people and the 1,000,000 pound trigger pull, I dream of chasing beautiful naked women with a can of whipped cream...

Never had the "unpullable trigger" dream but I do recall a few involving trying to defend myself with a Katana (the sword, not the bike) and I just didn't have the strength in my arms to wield it. Just ineffective swipes in the air, like I was a sick kid. Always figured it showed I had some issues with doubting my ability to protect myself.

Actually, there was this one time in real life when I was awakened around midnight to the sounds of people opening the gate to my backyard, just a few feet from my window. This was my "pre-gun ownership" days, so I groped around in the corner where my sword collection was and picked out my favorite Katana, a nice sharp one. So I'm standing in my dark bedroom in a bathrobe with an unsheathed sword, freaking out wondering what I'm gonna do if they break into the house. For those who are wondering, this is not a pleasant way to wake up.

Turns out some of my idiot neighbours' dog had jumped the fence into my yard, and these loonies decided to get it out by just waltzing into my backyard unannounced.

Anyways, in the end I had kept my head, stayed inside and safe. Hadn't even occoured to me to call 911. Chalk it up as a learning experience, and I sleep better now with my Sig P226 loaded and chambered in my quick access safe.

all of my heavy trigger pull, fake gun, or bullets having no effect dreams happened to me before i owned firearms. Also when i was around 12 years old i had a dream where i fired my toy gun at my dog and killed him. In my dream my parents were standing around us saying "Look what you did. Are you happy now, you just killed Patches" That did teach me not to aim at something that didn't want to shoot.

Speaking of subconscious. I once had a dream about my really hot neighbor, and in the middle i actually realized i was dreaming
So i started to telepathically remove all of her clothes. but as soon as she was naked she kept hiding herself and ran away. i never got to see her naked.

Old thread. Found from pham's thread..

I've had the dream about innefective punches. Like you try and hit your opponent and the punches are soft, like you have no 'punch' behind your punch.

Mine involve either not having any ammunition during a gunfight or not being able to load the magazines or having the rounds just fall out of the magazines as fast as I load them. It is very frustrating because during the dream I keep telling myself that I know how to do this task, why is it not working now? Must be deep seated feelings of inadequacy or something

What would sickman Freud say about this?

The dreams I had are similar but more like running out of ammo or no ammo at all.

You know what's funny is that I used to have that dream all the time before I started shooting and owned any firearms.

Ever since I started shooting, I've never had it. I guess cause I've never squeezed the trigger and not had the SIG go bang

Similar enough... the slide fell off the pistol when I tried to shoot it in the dream I had.

I've had the "bullets do nothing" dream, too... a couple of times.

I'm sure I dream but I think since I stay up so late and get up early I don't remember them often.
The few times I can recall a 'heavy trigger/jam/ineffective bullets' type dream the result was drawing either a saber or katana and charging. The dream usually ended when the blade contacted whatever the bad guy/thing was.
Weird, I've always seen the blade as the best backup in close quarters.

My most frequent of these is the ineffective bullets/weapons malfunctions and immediate action drill type. These are more common when I haven't been training as often, as soon as I 'catch up' on training they go away. This would seem to support the whole questioning my ability theory. Or maybe I'm just messed up in the head.

I've had dreams like that too. The one I remember off of the top of my head was me trying to hit some guy with my Garand featuring a 1,000,000 pound trigger pull. I got a few shots off but they were blanks.

But then again I've also had a dream where I had a modified M-60 blasting full-auto; modified in the sense that I could change it between 7.62 and 9mm.

I usually have dreams where my gun fires too easily and I kill an intruder (in a perfectly legal way) and then being totally worried that I'm the one who's going to jail because I wasted a criminal.... usually wandering around my house freaking out and wondering why the cops are taking so long to get there and bust me. The cops never show up in my dreams though... weird.
