    Elk Grove Gun Range

So, I bought a SW686 the other day at Wild Bill's in Elk Grove. I could go to the gun room down the street, but I'm not much of a fan of theirs. So, has anyone shot at the range next door to Wild Bill's? And how was it?

Other than the Gun Room there is a range off Grant Line?

The only range I'm aware of down in that area is the one at The Gun Room... That's a place I'd prefer NOT to patronize.

          What problems?

The Gun Room has always been good to me.

Check out Sac Valley Shooting Center in Sloughhouse.

Their no "assault 22lrs" policy is enough to keep me away.

I've never heard of a range next door to wild bills.

It's not marked very well at all. There is maybe one small sign that says range. That makes me think it might be a member's range. But the man at Bill's said they charge $15. ANytime you go in there you can here banging away next door.

they don't allow "evil" guns. no gsg's, no pistol caliber AR's, and they break state law by charging $36 for PPT. Not to mention, they spew FUD like it's going out of style.

Next door? The Gun Room is on the south side of Grant Line- but I won't set foot in there and it's the closest shop to me, partially for the reasons stated above. Did something open up next to Wild Bill's or am I misreading?

I agree about 95% with this. I haven't personally had any issues with the Gun Room, but they bug me because every single time I'm there, the scariest punks walk in there and shoot. It wouldn't matter except for the last time they were obviously high-blood shot eyes, slurring, slow speech, nice...
And yeah, +1 on Sac Valley. VERY nice!

                        Answer...

                        1. They charge an ILLEGAL dollar on transfers.
                        2. Prices are too high. As a general rule, one should go to the Gun Room, look at guns, see their high prices, get that dirty used wet hooker like shiver and drive over to Wild Bill's down the street and buy it from Brandon. Very satisfying experience.
                        3. They charge an ILLEGAL dollar on transfers... its worth stating again.

I wonder how much $$ they have made on that friggin illegal buck per transfer in comparison to the many thousands of $$ they lost in sales from guys who feel the same way?

That said, a couple guys in there are pretty cool, so I dont hold the store's shortcommings against them. Im always polite, just never a buyer

I personally dont know ANYONE that goes to the Gun Room for any reason but to shoot. Another option would be great.

I didn't like the atmosphere in there store, to much like you can look but dont ask us to let you hold one of our handguns. Waiting time to get in the range was worse than the DMV, i gave up and left.
