That's the beauty of revolvers, especially single actions, and bolt-action rifles - it naturally slows down your shooting so you don't use so much ammo.

As others have said, if you still want semi-auto action, .22LR is the cheapest game in town.

I also cannot consume an entire hour with 100 rounds. First 50 rounds is extremely slow. I keep eyes on target, load one round in the mag, load (eyes still on target), and fire. Eject mag and repeat 50 times. Sweep flow. Still cannot take up an entire hour.

buy a .22 and take up reloading for the P2000.

I used to only shoot rifles, so 20 rounds over 2 hours was plenty unless I was shooting my 10/22. It cost maybe $30 to go to the range. I recently bought a .40S&W pistol and burn 50-100 rounds at the range which doubled that cost.
I bought a reloading setup and spend $25 reloading 100 rounds of .40 S&W.

Fire one or two rounds then lower the gun, breath than fire another one or two rounds.

That's pretty much what I do. But I think I need to go with people so that I can get more feedback.

I also plan on getting a P22 in a few months. That way I can practice cheaper. Someone suggested you go and shoot maybe half a box of centerfire, get that out of your system. Then plink with 22 for a while. Then finish off with the last half of the box of centerfire. Sounds like a plan to me. (And an excuse to buy another gun...)

Start pacing yourself. When you go shooting you sound like a virgin ready to bang the prom queen. I know i know my first name used to be minuteman also

I go to outdoor ranges. Shoot a little then stop have a drink make a sandwich talk to a buddy etc.
