All my handgun ammo are my own reloads which I store in zip locks per 50-100rds and then they stay in 50cal ammo cans. My bulk rifle ammo is either in sealed wooden/steel cases but the stuff I currently use is dumped loose into 50 cal cans. HD ammo stays in their factory cartons until they are loaded into magazines.

i keep the ammo in the factory boxes either by the case or in ammo cans.
when i travel for classes though, i unbox what i need and place 200 rounds in each ziplock bag. i also include the box top with the lot number in the bag in case there is a problem with the ammo.Comment
