I was about to post this story.... glad I read through the threads.... I was wondering if Alabama had "Gun Free Campuses". What a JOKE.... So sad and utterly senseless that innocent lives are lost over stupid laws!

Actually, it seems AL doesn't statutorily ban carry on campus, but as we all know outside of UT there are only a handful of universities that actually allow it as a policy.Comment

Not at all. That point needs to be made every time one of these attacks happens.
Of course, all compassionate people have sympathy for the victims of this outrageous attack. But what good is sympathy, if we don't do anything which could help prevent such events in the future.
We cannot allow our public policy decision making (vis a vis CCW, in this case, which is what I was addressing) to be lured into the realm of emotional responses and reactions.

Try re-reading your post from the view of an anti, your entire statement could have been said by someone such as Paul Helmke or Diane Feinstein.
This is a tragedy and calling for political action or blaming the school board for what happened is not going to make any friends. Even Feinstein knew enough to not push an anti-gun agenda after the Oakland PD shootings.Originally posted by TwinkiesComment

The attacker was a professor. A graduate from Harvard too. I doubt we hear much from the Brady Bunch on this one. She was practically one of them. This is what happens when you create gun free zones. No! There should be mobs in the streets. Every child, parent, grandparent, father , mother, needs to be outraged at the senseless polices of the state. Looking at the legislators to enact laws allowing for self protection. The higherups at the university needs a public whipping in the parking lot. No, we are not being callous when we ask for the heads of the ones that spawn the victims.

Latest news ... She murdered her colleagues with a 9mm pistol.
The Boston Globe is reporting that in December 1986, when she was 20 years old, Bishop shot her 18-year-old brother to death. She was unloading a shotgun in the family home in the presence of their mother. The shooting was ruled an accidental death.
Well, I guess this time she won't get away with murder.
RIP to all her victims and their families and a speedy recovery to the wounded.x
