Make a semi-auto with a slide that is easy to rack and clear jams for people with disabilities resulting in grip strength issues.

I spent over an hour with my wife trying various techniques and she simply can't rack the slide on my XD9.
Tried her on an FNP-9.... easiest 9mmm slide I've ever racked... she simply can't do it.

Wheelguns are easy to operate and won't jam... but the 5 round capacity in the typical .38sp creates the situation requiring more reloads.

thanks, CSACANNONEER, I've thinking about picking up a glock 19. all my friends got 9mm so i wanna get a 9. but sometimes i think about picking up a .40 instead. my girlfriend is a small asian girl, but she handles 9mm easy. so i think a .40 wouldn't be a problem for her. I go to 10th street range in san jose during public hours to plink the .22, so if anyone is down to shoot some targets or just kick it, come on by.

I'd suggest getting a .22lr handgun as a first handgun. It will more than pay for itself by letting you shoot a lot more ammo for a lot less cash. Even a college student can afford to put in enough trigger time to develop good techniques. Of course, the two less expensive and most reliable semi-autos that I'd recommend are Brownings and Rugers. Both will last for 100s of 1000s of rounds. The Walthers, S&W 21s, Mosqitos, Berrettas, etc. all tend to have problems within 25K rounds.

Also, be careful about teaching your GF to shoot. You'll need to be humble since, she will probably become a better shot than you rather quickly.

Focus on how it will be made and how you will be able to do it the cheapest.

Well for one, take the best out their then improve on it. The best did not get their by accident nor did they do it overnight. Trying to star from the ground up or as I like to say from the wheel, I hope you got a few hundred years of life time to live to see your product make it to the tracks.

i'm in the early phases of product development, so all input helps. the good thing about a 700 yr old product is that everything has already been researched for you. the bad thing is that everything has already been tried. But what i'm trying to do here is not to reinvent the wheel, but to look for market niches that might not have been explored before.
