    Day 9 is the worst!

On day 1-4 it seemed too long of a wait to worry about it.
On day 5-7 I was getting tense but I remained strong.
Yesterday, the strain was starting to get to me and I worked 3 extra hours so I could get off early from work on Monday.
    Today I can't wait anymore.
Tomorrow I'm taking off early to pick her up. Finally.

    Good luck sleeping tonight!

Whatever it is, I hope you have a picture of it -- maybe from a magazine review or ad -- and you keep it bedside so you can keep looking at her.

I think the first day is always the worst for me, partly because it's generally the first day you ever get to see her...in all her firearm glory...the smell...the weight...how she feels in your hand...the crisp sound of the action....and then the employee snatches her from your hand and says "SEE YA IN 10 DAYS!" Talk about heart break.

I think I was on day 6 or 7 when I created a spreadsheet to check off the hours remaining

Buy your guns at a shop that has a range.

Dave's in 'Berdoo will let you have "conjugal visits"... I had 200 rounds through my XD before I brought her home!

Tomorrow I'm DROSing a new O/U I ordered... let the wait begin.

Makes me long for the days when long guns were strictly cash and carry. We'll never see that again.

OP you are viewing this all wrong.

You need to buy more guns so that in between the ten days you have a few other guns spaced out ready for pick up and the time for the ten day wait will fly bye.

                          Trust me.

I used to feel like a kid a week before christmas during the 10 day wait period.. but that was years ago. I got a Draco I'm going to pick up on.. oh I forget what date.. I think I'm on day 2 or 3, though.

Anyway, I used to feel that way back when I didn't have many other worries or things going on.

Damn I miss those days. Working on getting back there again.

Haha I called in to ask about what I needed to bring to pick up a gun after the 10 day wait period one day, and this stick in the mud manager says to me, "WELL FIRST OF ALL, its an 11 day waiting period.." Which, technically it is since they start the clock one day after the purchase, but on the pick-up slip they gave me it clearly states in bold caps lock letters, "10 day wait period"..
