    DROS question

I know if you buy 2 or more rifles at the same time you can DROS them all on the same form and pay one fee.

what about a handgun and a rifle?

I had one store do it.

I had another store tell me you can't do it.

note: not FTF or consignment sale.

IIRC, they can both go on the same federal 4473 form, but they have to have two separate Kali DROS

As said above...Kali allows multiple long guns on one DROS....but each handgun requires its own.

Ah, there we go, that's a good way to explain it. So, to do the transfer you need both Federal 4473 and Kali DROS:
        - Federal 4473 can take multiple firearms of all types on a single form
        - Kali DROS can take multiple longguns on a single form
        - Each handgun must be on its own Kali DROS form

The fee is charged per DROS. If you DROS X number of longguns and one handgun, you must generate two DROS. Therefore, there will be two fees.

As a side note, at our store, although the 4473 can accommodate more than one firearm, we will put more than one on a 4473 only if they have consecutive numbers in the federal log (the so-called "bound book.") Otherwise, filing and retrieval become a nightmare.

I will put three on a form no matter where they are in the bound book. I put the book number for each long gun at the top right box and can easily fit 3 lines.. the trick is makeing sure you log out all three when you release them.

              ... wheres your store?
