yeah, i suspect it it holding the lock release, since according to the non-explicit book, when you extend the bolts, it should lock them.

There is no code to lock the bolts, you should just turn the handle and once the bolts are fully extended the locking pin should set and keep the bolts from being retracted until the combo is punched in the pad again... From what you are telling us it sound like the solenoid that operates the drop, (locking pin) is stuck and not setting the pin in the plate...

When you put the code in the key pad do you hear any kind of click that sounds like a electronic solenoid?
Also if the bolts can't extend all the way into the frame they will not lock... make sure you have nothing in the way of the bolts, like along the back edge of the nonhinged side of the frame. I had a watch that was hanging in the way and the bolt could not extend all the way so the door would not lock...

no sound other than keytone. it's empty. with door open or closed bolts fully extend. right now, it's as useful as leaving my guns on the porch.

Did you call the guys at U.S. Safe via the # I provided you? At worst, Cannon will send someone out to remedy the problem. As for the electronic keypad/lock, I can be in my safe in two seconds and you'll never be able to say that about a combo. dial lock!

They'll square you away and you'll be thrilled with the safe. You can't beat it for that price. Let Cannon know that they owe you for the inconvenience. Maybe they'll send a Dri-Rod your way.
                    Good Luck!

If you bought it at Costco they've got a pretty lenient return policy. You could try taking it back to them if that's not too much of a hassle.

Yes I kinda think you jumped the gun. I know it is a pain in the a.ss but they will square you away... I had a problem with the lock on my safe, it took a couple of times through the code to get it open and they came out in two days and replaced the lock and no probs. since.
