It's a sign of our weakness as a country these days. We should have someone like George Patton in charge instead of the moron in the White House now. Have Trijicon print the whole text of the verse then Vengeance is mine says the Lord on the front rim facing the enemy. Screw what the middle east thinks, serve them double portion of the pork and drop porno pics all over Mecca.

The Anti-Christ is working against us.
I am keeping my ACOG with JN8:12. and 3 more Trijicon Accupoint scopes with Verses on them.

I am with you. There is no separation of church and state, that is nothing more than how Thomas Jefferson explained to Baptist Ministers in a letter about how the 1st protects people practicing any religion they choose.

I would also agree it was inappropriate. No it doesn't do any harm and they are a private company, screw the jihadis, but what about the troops? There are many soldiers from different backgrounds, ethnicities, religions and they are defending a country with such a diverse people. I have come to grips with this country being a Christian nation, I am ok with it and I still love this country but making it a usual thing on ALL military issue ACOGs is to much for me.

And I'm for heck sure that the US penal code says nothing whatsoever on whether a manufacturer can print biblical references on the side of a scope.

Having said all that, I'd agree that it was inappropriate, in the same way that when I used to fly Alaska Airways, I didn't want the little religious quotes on my meal trays. I don't push my religious views on people, and I don't really want them pushing theirs on me.

Well I hope the person who brought this to the medias attention is happy about all this crap that got strewn up.

Getting worked up about it is silly but it seems like everyone handled this situation cooly. The company is pulling the inscriptions voluntarily -- that's good enough for me. Retrofit kits seems like taking the extra step which I take as a sign of good faith (har har).

To those of you who support the inscriptions, this isn't about what a private company does in their private business. They can (and probably will) keep doing whatever they want privately. As for the scopes headed to the military, every tax-paying American is paying for those scopes and that makes them "public". Pulling the inscriptions is clearly the right move.

They made the business decision to put the references on their products. I would have thought they would have fought a little harder to support their business decision. If I were them and I felt it important to put the verse references there to begin with, I would probably continue to do so just in a more inconspicuous place. Everybody here knows about the In-n-Out cups right? I wonder if any military base has ever ordered In-n-Out for a luncheon?

                            Agreed.

For how much we claim to want to protect our rights on this website i'm surprised that more people on this website don't support this action.

The US Government is obligated by law to not promote one religion over the other or even promote religion in general. This is a clear violation of the Constitution and I'm glad it is being fixed.
