    Ruger 9mm Carbine?

A friend of mine is a Ruger nut and he asked me to watch for a Ruger 9mm Carbine rifle. He said they were discontinued and he wants one. According to him it was primarily developed for LEO's. Does anyone have any info about these? I am a gun nut but have never seen or heard of this rifle. I am more of a Black Powder guy so I figured somebody here might be able to point me in the right direction.

Great carbine. It's a blow back 9mm (or .40 S&W). Two versions are available. One with rifle sights and one with a ghost ring sight. Try to get the ghost ring sight. They've been discontinued by Ruger for a couple of years. I don't know why, it's a great rifle. Here's mine.

No, the name of the 9mm model is the Ruger PC9 (PC4 for the .40 cal). "Blowback" is the type of action on the semi auto rifle. Forces from the firing of the ammunition blow back the bolt to opperate it. The bolt comes back to extract and eject the spent casing and moves forward via a recoil spring and picks up another round from the magazine and feeds it into the chamber.

Your welcome. If during your search you find this exact butt stock carrier......

please let me be the first to buy it off of you if you don't want it. All I know is that it's not an "Uncle Mikes" carrier. Thanks.

Almost forgot, the Ruger PC9's run approx. $500. I see you're in Oceanside. There's a police supply store in San Diego that I can't remember the name of, that may have police trade in PC9's. Many dept.s bought them I think.

The PC9's and PC4's pop up in the Classifieds from time to time. I should know, I bought my PC9 there.

And if you wanna scope it, the non-GR model might work better. If you're gonna shoot irons, the GR's is the way to go.

There're 3 PC4's on Gunbroker right now. Only one PC9, and the seller is asking $979 for it

Since it is (or was) a LEO model, does it accept the Glock or Beretta magazines, or does it take the Ruger magazine.

If it takes Glock mags, I'd love to have one of those to use with my old preban 30rd Glock mags

From the factory, it accepted only Ruger P-series handgun magazines. There was a custom shop that did the glock magazine conversions, but has since stopped.

They are great little guns! I had a PC4 that I sold to a fellow CalGunner and have regretted it ever since! Very accurate and reliable. They never really caught on, the Glock mag conversion would be awesome!

Cool rifle, the PC9 was the first gun I ever fired
