        You would first need to present the "evidence" backing up your claim that the handgun is over 50 years old to your local transfer dealer. If he doesn't believe the gun is C&R then he is not going to use the C&R exemption to the Roster to transfer the gun to you. Your local transfer dealer would then need to present your evidence to CalDOJ if they ever questioned him about the transfer. I have no idea if CalDOJ ever questions FFL's about the legitimacy of the Roster exemptions they use on handgun transfers.
