Buying off of the Forums ?

Mods; I wasn't sure were to ask this.
    Please move if needed.

I want to make a purchase off another forum.
However the sellers only post is his for sale add.
He joined 2 months before posting the add, the add is 6 months old
It is a Great deal if Legit, I'm just not trusting of someone with a low post count, especially 1 post.
Amount would be $135 for two NOS 03A3 Barrles, one SC and one Rem.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Unfortunately, we have many new members whose only purpose for signing up is to sell their firearm Personally I wouldnt buy nor sell any gun to a member with little to no posts. I'd rather give that privelage to a true Cal Gunner. Thats just me though.

Not a Mod, but if F2F, might be worth looking at, other than that I don't think I would send $$$ to someone that just showed up to sale... just my $.02

Why not bump the thread and see if the OP even responds.

I have great luck selling here on Calguns. More than 60 transactions and everyone has been pleasent and honest. I always protect myself and make sure that both parties know exactly what they are getting.

I do a bit of trading on the gunboards forum and have had good luck there too but I am MUCH more cautious over there. There trader feedback system blows.

I have also done a ton of deals on motorcycle forums and have always come away impressed.

The post is old, so it is closed.

I have done lots of good deals on the Forums but never with people with low post counts.
I almost got taken once, but that was a guy with high post count and 100% feedback one of the Checks in the Mail things

Thats rather a myopic view. Everyone is new at some point. It doesn't make them good, or bad, just a recent join.

To the OP: Due Dilligence is the key in ANY over the net transaction(s). dont just jump.

The Battle of San Jacinto still astounds me. 1,360 Mexican soldiers vs. 910 Texan soldiers--every Mexican soldier was killed or captured, while there were only 8 Texans killed and 23 wounded--and it was all over in 18 minutes.

I wish we had something like that implemented here. Maybe then they can actually read the forum rules and learn the correct way to post and sell something. Instead we have a bunch of newbies selling guns with no price, locations, "PM for pics", multiple for-sale threads, necro-ad replies, and so-on and so-on..

It's the same way on the BMW forums.

Trust me. Some people's first and only post will be a FS ad. Thats the type of people I was referring to. New members with the intent to learn and be a part of CG are always welcome by me and others. The more the merrier

I agree with the above. Especially if it's an old thread and you've had no contact with the seller... FTF? No question.
Send him money and hope he ships? Only if I had $135 to flush down the toilet.
