Gun's N stuff surprises me again...

So I was on my way home with my new .45 that I got from a fellow calgunner and remembered that I needed more #9 solvent. So I stop at guns' n stuff and it's really busy which I guess surprised me, so while I was there I was looking at their selection browsing and seeing the new inventory they have and they had an M&P 15 there with a BB. Last time I'd talked to them about OLL they told me they would never EVER carry them, so I thought I would ask if they can get the M&P 15 in 5.45x39. I ask two gentlemen at the handgun counter if they can get an M&P 15 in 5.45, they both look at each other and say "a what?" So I repeat again "an M&P 15 in 5.45?" "I figured I'd ask since you have one over there in 5.56." They just look at me like I'm smokin' crack and say nope we can't get them and they've never heard of 5.45 and am I sure about the caliber. I said "yes I'm sure it's a Russian round a 5.45x39."they've been making it since like 1974." To which I get again.... "Nope, never heard of it." That response simply amazed me...... I guess that's why I don't ever shop there...

Just because they run a gun shop does not mean they know jack **** about guns or ammo :-)

next time just go to the main counter and start talking to the little dog that's ussually there, when they ask you what you are doing just tell them you figured you would get the same answer from everyone there so why not ask the dog

The irony of this is that they have (had?) a bunch of 5.45 in the ammo section....

Only go there to pick up small stuff like brushes etc. Way over priced. They seem to cater to the hunting crowd, but recently started to tip toe into OLL waters.

Yeah those guys are worthless. I met a guy to do a ftf transfer there with a Vulcan CA DOJ Approved rifle a few months back and they almost turned me away stating that it was illegal and they didn't want any part of it. I live in Sacramento and had driven the 50+ miles already, so having to stand there and try to exlpain how and why this rifle was legal to a guy that works at a gun shop was not making me happy(to say the least). This guy was also one of the managers. I agree just because you work somewhere doesn't mean you'll know it all about the stuff you sell, but come on now. The OLL and CA DOJ Approved lowers have been around for several years now and have a strong following. Please Learn! I work at a tool store and guess what...I took the time to learn how to use all of our tools properly and am able to show customers how to use all of our tools as well as inform them of all of their features...good and bad. Take some pride in your work for once. From what I understand the owner of the shop also owns a contruction company and is very very well off, so he doesn't really care about his employees, or customers. What would you expect from someone that's friends with the infamous Sterling.

Two friends of mine used to commute there for work, but have both since quit and now work at a local shop right here in Sacramento. Apparently there was a suicide down in the range area not too long ago and the owner is such a d-bag that he made a new employee go clean it up. No proper hazmat clean-up at all.

I had heard about that someone had shot themselves at the range there. I heard it was somebody from Vallejo or something but I had no idea that they committed suicide there. This makes me not want to go to the range at all (although I think I've only shot there like once or twice. While I was there it seemed that they'd give anyone a gun to shoot. I saw lots of sideways shooting and irresponsibility like that.)

Yeah that doesn't surprise me at all, but I remember one time while doing a transition from my rifle to my pistol they came in all p.o'd and claimed I was firing more than one shot per second. I was counting in my head "bang" one thousand and one "bang" one thousand and two "bang" one thousand and three... I was counting very slow and enunciating all syllables. I figured it was more likely because I had just shot twenty rounds in a row they somehow thought I was shooting faster than I actually was.
