I've shot 1000's of hard cast 180 grain SWC through my G20 (10mm). These were make major loads for IPSC and range pickup brass. The whole steel target stand would move across the ground, kicking up dirt when the plate was hit. The 9's sometimes would not even knock these plates down. Never had a problem with leading or blown cases, etc.

Just use a reliable hard cast bullet company like Bear Creeks, or go with one of the aftermarket button rifled barrels.

Can you even get .45acp in a non-jacketed bullet? I don't know that I've ever seen one.

wow. we now have a generation of shooters who haven't seen cast lead 45acp bullets?

Used to be I would only shoot lead SWC in my 1911s because they were so cheap to shoot(I had sources that sold 45 SWC for as cheap as 9mm in the good old days)

I read somewhere a while back that Glock's going kaboom had more to do with the chamber than barrel fouling. I don't remember the details but the Glock doesn't have a fully supported chamber, which may not be the cause of these failures but contributes. I don't know if that is factual or not, but it would make some sense.
