Unless they were just bought or they are for sale there is no need for this but it is a common theme at many shows. I frequently set up at Reno and some other local shows and when I see people with guns of interest I ask if they are for sale. Many times they say no they are just carrying them or my favorite, I am just "giving them a day out of the safe".... My next question normally is why would you want to do that? Many times the average gun owners mentality and mine clash so maybe it's just me. I compare it to like the aholes that bring their fk'ing dog everywhere with them (including restaurants)

And people wonder why there is so much resistance to open carry in California. You will have a small percentage of people who want to carry for protection and a million others who will carry because it's just cool to have your Glock FOTAY WITCHA at the mall. Not a good enough reason.

A related question on gun show rules - is it OK to carry a concealed firearm if you have your CCW permit? For some reason I thought it was not allowed but I'm not 100% sure. Thx!

My understanding is there are NO loaded guns allowed in any gun show period.

I was meeting up with a couple of friends at the gun show and they wanted to see it. I also know a few of the vendors there and they always like to see the new things I've put on my rifle so they know what kind of products people would like to buy.

I understand your reason for it, but I had good reasons to do it. It wasn't for ****s and giggles and to be an attention whore. Check my other post

You always have does A holes that approach you and give you crap about your rifle or pistol having it holstered or rifle on a sling.I was at Costa Mesa Gun Show a while back 1911 on my side holstered with no plastic tie but not loaded .I'm a vendor and some how I forgot to put tie down back after trying out a pair of grips. When walking around looking at the booths a man gets next to me dressed with baggy pants and choppers shirt and whispers next to my ear "Is your pistol loaded ?? I then replied No Sir !!It doesn't have a magazine or bullet on the chamber .He said"THANKS" and walked away with two other men.Later on that same show I seen the same guy handcuffing a young man .I 'm guessing he was ATF .

Oh wow, I guess you'll never know who you'll run into at a gun show.

Or just local LEO or such. Proves you never know who you are talking to at a gun show.

JoePamJohn Not all that carry openly are doing it because it is cool. For me it is the only option since I cannot get a CCW here. It is the closest thing I have to self defense if I get in to that type of situation I can load faster than I can get away. Now would I wear my gun to a gun show probably not. Unless I was taking it to have it looked at by someone for some reason.

Not only not loaded, but you can't have a gun and the ammo for the gun.

I will usually just make eye contact with people who say stupid things, and then ignore them. Pretty much lets them know they aren't worth your time.

I guess you'll have to put the firearm in the car if you want to buy ammo for it at the show.

Thats pretty much what I would do. Ive dealt with idiots all the time. i was at the range one time and a girl next toi me was asking her BF/guys he was with what I was shooting ( it was a taurus 44 magnum.) the guy said its probably a magnum 38. That guy has penis envy ( talking about me) I looked at them and really stared at the guy. he didnt think I heard but there was a lull in the firing just as he said what he said. They pretty much packed up and left.
