    Need some ammo shipping help...q

Have never shipped ammo before and would like to know what are the do's and don'ts, what to maybe watch out for, and definately what to make sure I never do or never forget to do please. Anything that fits into any of those catagories. Also, is there a separate shipping code ($$) for ammo? How does the box have to be marked or stickered because of the content?

    thanks...

Cheapest solution I have found is take it to a UPS customer center. IIRC you cannot drop it off at a retail UPS store or staples or whatever, it has to be a customer center. Take a marker and write ORM-D on the box. Thats basically it. Theres no extra fee's via UPS. I have heard FEDEX will charge extra but I've never used them.

Also, I believe you have to ship the ammo within some type of inner box( no loose cartridges).

    Absolutely cannot use USPS.

call around to all your local UPS stores and ask them if they will ship ammo. some will and some won't. take it to the one that will and ship it. it's that easy. you will need an ORM-D sticker or you can just write it with a sharpie or marker.

49 CFR 173.63(b) is some good reading regarding shipping ammo...see here: http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/cfr_20...9cfr173.63.pdf

And don't forget to label "ORM-D CARTRIDGES, SMALL ARMS" (with the ORM-D in a box and the other writing outside the box) on the same side of the box as the address. You can either download/print/buy a pre-made label or just mark it on the box with a marker.

            Check out this thread...

if you want some ORM-D labels that you can print out on your printer.
