    I don't really know about your situation.

    My grandfather told me back in the late 80's... all of these are yours, but I'll store them for you if you'd like.

        I would have not been old enough to own a firearm in 1991 I would have only been 9.

          Me too

          (1982 was a good year)

          You would have not been old enough to take sole possession of a gun, you could have OWNED one.

          which is why my grandpa offered to store mine for me.

          The nice thing about property is that anyone can own it at any age.

          You only need parental consent to enter into contracts.

            Just so we all have this correctly :
            Assault Weapons are " registered "
            Handguns are " listed to owner " {traceable}
            Long guns are "transfered " {to new owner on a 4473}
            "America will never be destroyed from the outside.
            If we falter and lose our freedoms,it will be because we destroyed ourselves"

              There is a form you fill out {i can't remember the exact # } and send in $19.00 with it to have the handguns re-listed to you .You MAY have to send in an HSC with the form. As this is Ca., I expect you will need the HSC.

                  You are required to have the HSC, but the form does not ask you about it. There is no PC that says you have to send in a copy of the HSC either.

                  Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

                      So, if you inherit a handgun you need to get it registered into your name?

                        Handgun Safety Certificate. Go to your local FFL and take the test. Pass and you get a HSC got for 5 years. With it, you can purchase/transfer handguns.

                            "Yes, unless you actually get a C&R license, at which point you have to log your purchases and sales and keep the records for twenty years."

                            No, you don't have to keep your records for twenty years. After your license expires (or you surrender it) you don't have to keep records at all. You can destroy them if you wish.

                                You do NOT have to keep records for twenty years unless you maintain a license continuously for that time period.

                                Once your license lapses you can burn all transaction records.

                                There is no record keeping requirement after the license expires (unlike other FFL types)
