    Screw the Range?

    I was at my usual range today and after coming home and looking at the receipt I noticed I wasn't charged for a few boxes of ammo I used. I called the range and made it right. To me it's just the right thing to do.

    Now I mentioned this to a friend and he thinks I should have let the range "eat" their mistake. I think my integrity is worth more than the 40 bucks I would have saved.

    What say you, fellow calgunners?

      I gotta agree, integrity is worth more than 40 bucks.

      I wish I could be as sure about 40 million dollars.

      Perhaps lack of opportunity will preserve my integrity?

        Not worth it IMO. I look at it this way. i may gain 40$ today but Ill lose double that tomorrow. Screwing people over is not something I would consider doing. I may be a a hole sometimes but ill be 100% fair in everything I do.

          Integrity is like a bullet.

          Once it leaves, you can never get it back.

                I'm suprised the range even took your money after you called to point out their mistake and make it right. You did the right thing, integrity is something alot of people lack these days.
                God, grant me the serenity
                To accept the things I cannot change;
                The courage to change the things I can;
                And the wisdom to know the difference.

                  I've made mistakes on invoices, and always appreciated those who pointed it out. It's not happened often enough to hurt, but it was still mighty nice (and truth be told, I wouldn't have made them make it right, since it WAS my mistake).

                    Most range ammo is not sold for much profit. Most ranges don't earn that much just on range fees alone, so they get most of their money from rentals and ammunition. So you did the right thing if it's a good range and they need to stay in business.

                          id say you would have been correct either way, of course its right to correct a mistake, however i wouldn't put you at fault if you didnt point it out to them.
