CLP CLEANER!! WHERE HAVE I BEEN!!!

I was at the gun show today and found out about CLP gun cleaner. This man was explaining to me how it is light years ahead of solvent and also work as good as any lubricator on the market, All in one step. I Was a little skeptical at first. I walked the show and found another quality booth that was mainly just promoting there brand of CLP. I listened in the back round and found every thing the first guy explained to me the same as these guys were pitching. So I went back to the first booth where he had only three large bottle left. Well I just got home and tried it on a gun that was half cleaned and needed to be finished. This stuff was like nothing I have ever used. It literally dissolved the carbon as soon as I touched the parts with it. Also no horrible odor! (My wife will love this stuff!) She always got so aggravated when I would clean my guns. Then the next test was how lubricated wwould it actually feel? It was so slippery and lubed that I was very convinced it was everything they said it was. Then after I was done I had to was my hand four times to get the oily feel of my hand. Nothing like any lube. I would wash my hand real good once and they felt normal. Not with this stuff. By the way the name brand he was selling was called GUNZILLA Let me know if you have heard of CLP? GOOD or BAD?

CLP is very popular. Dont use it in the barrel though.

Walmart sells it too, fyi. Ive only seen it in the aerosol cans there though

      Solvent and gun lub?

Solvent and good lube in barrel and is it ok as a final step of lube on bolt and other parts?

I use it to help clean parts and loosen build up carbon/crap and then use a grease for the lubrication. Oil and CLP evaporate, burn up and run. Grease stays where you put it

I don't think the OP is actually talking about the brand CLP. he said something about gunzilla. Not the same stuff as in the black and yellow can.

I started using Gunzilla after the Cow Palace show and it is neat stuff... SO far I thinkI switched cleaners.... Only time will tell...

What else was cool is that regular gun oil then CLP seem to attract dirt whereas the Gunzilla repels the dirt and yes mostly all natural stuff with not much smell at all.

hmm, ok, I have a questions. Why not Breakfree in the barrel, it does have a cleaning component to it. I use Hoppes solvent for cleaning and am considering a barrel foam but I am curious why not. In the Army we solely used Breakfree CLP to clean the M16s

Bore foam would be a better choice, Breakfree CLP has teflon in it - Thats why its best not to use it in the barrel

                        Teflon

He mentioned" it has Teflon in it and don't make a habit of it "?

The military gets a different formulation of CLP that doesn't have teflon.

CLP was created at the request of the military to be a "passable" cleaner, lubricant and protectant.
If does NONE of them exceptionally well, but all of them good enough.
It was made to simplify the numbers of containers of lubricant and bore cleaner that grunts have to carry.
The idea was to take two items and replace them with one.

This is much like a swiss army knife approach.
It's handy to have all those tools, but none of those tools work as good as dedicated tools.

I use hot coffee down the barrel of my 1853 Enfield to clean it during re-enactments. I clean it with Hopps #9 and some oil when I get home.
