Nice try at hijacking the thread nagorb, but the answers to all of your questions have already been given. Maybe you should start your own Broke Back thread or something?Comment

Hey Scott, welcome to Calguns.
Maybe you need to spend some time lurking and getting a feel for things before you start unnecessary flame wars with your very first posts here. I mean, you just started posting and already you are picking fights. That is a pretty good indicator of who's being snarky and who isn't, don't you think?
And BTW, the gay members of Calguns (there are a few) probably don't appreciate your homophobic horesehit. Just a bit of advice.
HTH, HAND!Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. I've certainly been called that more than once - I've even seen Kes get called that. I haven't seen Red-O get called that yet, which is very suspicious to me, and means he's probably a DOJ shill.Comment

The pot calling the kettle black. Yet more snarky attitude from the guy that started it all with post #2. Sorry Mitch but BLM land is not yours to use exclusively. Get used to it, the word is out. Keep replying though and BUMP this thread to the top so everyone can use public land.Maybe you need to spend some time lurking and getting a feel for things before you start unnecessary flame wars with your very first posts here. And why do you keep giving advice and warnings to people? Who made you the thought police? My comments were directed at nagorb in jest. Don't drag a whole group of people into the argument just because you feel safety in numbers.Last edited by ScottCoberly; 11-03-2009, 8:18 AM.Comment

Oh, I am well aware of that, and routinely direct people who have seen my videos, via e-mail, to my favorite shooting spot in the Mojave Desert.
But keep on spouting off about subjects (like my attitudes about BLM land) you know nothing about. You should make lot of friends here.Originally posted by cockedandglockedGetting called a DOJ shill has become a rite of passage around here. Mitch please take this conversation to your own thread. This is off topic.Oh, I am well aware of that, and routinely direct people who have seen my videos, via e-mail, to my favorite shooting spot in the Mojave Desert.

Advice to anyone reading this thread. Ignore the Mitch and nagorb types. Just read the OP's first message. Anecdotal examples mean nothing in the grand scheme. I'm sure all of you are smart enough to do your own research without being talked down to by haters who don't want you coming across their "secret spot". Remember public land is just that: public. None of these guys trying to scare you away own this property.Comment

It's been two days since anyone has posted to this thread Scott... give it a rest man.
As far as people trying to "hide" their BLM shooting areas, take a look at this other thread for some insight as to WHY people tend to keep "their spots" to themselves.
Maybe it's different where you shoot, but here in SoCal, as soon as word leaks out about a convenient area, within days the area is littered with trash and empty beer cans. People have got no respect for others OR for the land. That leads to the BLM creating yet more exceptions that close out areas.
I'm not saying that I hide the areas that I shoot... I don't and don't intend to, though at this point, I have only used ranges and private property, but the private property option won't be acceptable for the long rifles I plan to pick up.- Rich
